Microsoft Spreadsheets Versions Of Excel
Before you go rushing out to buy the new version of Excel make sure that you actually want to upgrade to this latest version or if your current Excel version suits your current requirements just fine. Newer is not always better as people quickly found out when they upgraded from Excel 2003 to Excel 2007 where the Microsoft spreadsheets just do not operate as well or as efficiently as the previous versions. It is however recommended that you upgrade if you are using an Excel version that is earlier than 2003.
You also need to be aware that you and your employees may need some training on the Microsoft spreadsheets every time you upgrade two a later version of Excel. While many of the basic principles in Excel stay the same for each version, user operations and applications differ and it is important to be aware of these changes. Even if you are an expert Excel user, you may find that you need at least a refresher course when the version is upgraded.
It is also important to be aware that many of the accredited training providers for Microsoft spreadsheets may not have the course material or a training course in place for Excel 2010. It may be a better option to just provide refresher courses for your employees on your current version of Excel so that they are able to get more out of the program. There are many training providers that provide these refresher courses which will be far more cost effective to you than purchasing the new version of Excel and then providing training.
You can find out more about the problems that may occur in the later versions of Excel for Microsoft spreadsheets by running a simple search on the internet or finding a way in which you can test the version you want to buy before making your purchase.
