Control Enter
Multiple Cells
By holding the
control key down while you push enter, you are able to enter the
same formula, number or text in a number of cells at the same time.
The easiest way to explain is to show you. So for example if
I decide I’m going to highlight say these and I will highlight
that. So what I’ve now done is highlighted about 10 cells. The
active cell is shown here. So if I start typing I’ll say equals
that plus that. If in this situation I push “enter” you’ll see
what happens is the sum happens there and all that happens is the
cursor moves one way across. I am just going to undo it. If however
I push equals that plus that but before I push enter I hold
the control key down, watch what happens in all these cells I’ve
highlighted. I push enter, so I’m
holding control and push enter, you’ll see every single cell that
was highlighted now contains that formula of adding the two cells
above it together. This is a very useful way of performing the same
function in multiple cells
