Pivot Tables 2007- Introduction
Pivot Tables are a
great way of turning great quantum’s of data into useful reports
that maybe look something like this. You can see the report is
nicely set up with the months and the destination networks. The
benefit of Pivot Tables, though, is that we can easily change this.
So, for example, if we want a more detailed report where maybe we
want to know the phone
calls made to that
network – it is as easy as this – and you’ll see you now have
all the information available to you.
The basic structure
of a Pivot Table is as follows:- you
have got a section where you can put the data in, and a section for
column headers, you have a section for Row headers and you have a
section for Page Field headers. What you’ll notice is all these
sections can be controlled by the Pivot Table Field list which
appears on the right hand side of your screen.
