Excel ISeven Function
The Excel ISeven function is used to find even and odd numbers. The Excel ISeven function will return a Boolean value that depends on whether it is an even or odd number. The function is only available when the Analysis ToolPak is installed. True will be the result if the number is even while a False will be returned for an odd number.
To install the Analysis ToolPak click on the Tools option on the main menu at the top of the screen and select Add-ins. Select Analysis Toolpak and OK to have it applied. Follow the instructions for setting up the program.
The syntax for the Excel ISeven function is ISEVEN(number). The number is the value that you want to test. Truncation indicates that the number is not an integer. If it is a non-numeric number the #VALUE! Error will be returned.
To locate the function if the Analysis Toolpak is installed you can go to the function wizard on the menu and select more functions. Select the applicable function. Select the reference number for your list and point to it. The function wizard will give the ISEVEN value if it is true. You can copy the value down the whole list to find a true or false for all the numbers. The ISODD function works in exactly the same way to find odd numbers with the display of true or false for odd numbers.
