Excel transpose features allow for instance, the conversion of data in rows to data in columns. Instead of retyping the data you can make use of the advanced Excel transpose features.

Select the data that you want transposed and then select Copy on the menu. Your next step is to select the specific cell that must become the upper left corner of the column and then select Edit, then Paste Special (don’t use just paste). The Paste Special dialog box will open. In the open dialog box select Transpose.

In essence the Excel transpose features thus make it possible to turn a horizontal range of cells into a vertical range of cells as set out in the parameters selected by the user. It is also possible to transform the range of cells from a column to a horizontal range.
The syntax for it is as follows:
Transpose(range)
Range represents the selected cells that should be transposed.
It is important to enter the range value in an array. To do this you need to enter the value. Then press the Cntrl+Shift+Enter keys. By in so doing, the program will then place {} around the formula. This will indicate an array.

In practice then you will thus have the following formula:

=TRANSPOSE(B1:B4)

Now press the Cntrl+Shift+Enter keys which will create an array formula. The data will now appear in the selected cells.

If you only need to paste the value once you can highlight the cells which need to be copied and right click with your mouse. Select Copy from the menu and then the cells where you want pasting. Select the Transpose option and then the OK option.
