| The
spreadsheet modeling review process consists of the following: |
|
1 |
Scoping |
| |
|
|
|
The initial phase of a spreadsheet
modeling review involves scoping the assignment
and assessing the skills that will be required.
For local organisation this would involve visiting the client
and discussing the spreadsheet to be reviewed and the history
and importance of the model.
For international clients, the model would be emailed to us
where we would review it and discuss telephonically its background.
Depending on the assignment we may fly out to discuss. |
|
| 2 |
High level understanding |
| |
Based on discussions and reviewing the excel spreadsheet we
would obtain an understanding of the process/es undergoing
modeling. |
| 3 |
Detailed investigation of cells,
formula and other aspects of the spreadsheet |
| |
We would then perform a detailed review of the model using
Spreadsheet Professional, where
each unique cell would be considered in light of its functions. |
| 4 |
Feedback of findings |
| |
At this stage we would provide a report indicating
our findings during the spreadsheet modelling review. These would be categorized into levels of risk
being high, medium and low. Inevitably we would also have further
queries to be explained by the client. |
| 5 |
Consideration of clients response |
| |
Based on the clients response to our findings and queries
we would assess whether the situation has been resolved. If
corrections are made in our spreadsheet modeling review we can use Spreadsheet
Professional to assess the integrity of the changes. |
| 6 |
Debrief and completion |
| |
A final report of the spreadsheet modelling process is generated and delivered. |
