A request we had was how handle fractions in excel, in particular how to get Excel to format fractions to ignore whole numbers i.e. if the fraction is 3/2 (e.g. blackjack winnings) if you enter it as 3/2 and format in Excel as a fraction it will by default change it to 1 1/2 . The casino company I was assisting wanted to display it as 3/2.

To achieve this simply go to the format cells options and click custom format. In the box enter it as ?/? (the normal format is # ?/?). Now when you enter 3/2 it will continue to display as 3/2.
