Group/ Ungroup- move the plus and minus icon to the top

Excel’s Group and Ungroup feature is very useful and should used rather then the Hide/ Unhide feature. It is easy to do. Highlight the rows or columns, click on DATA tab and then GROUP (or UNGROUP) if you want to remove them.

A common question is whether the plus and minus icons can appear above the hidden items instead of below.

The answer is yes. Once you have setup the grouping, click on the settings button

Untick the ‘Summary rows below detail’ (or one of the other options).
