Can you believe the power of the Internet.
It has been driving me nuts lately that my computer takes for ever to do certain things in Excel. The first time I make a cell bold it takes a long time and print previews took forever. Eventually I did a google search for ‘excel running slow with bold’ and immediately got the answer courtesy of Dave Peterson.
I would never have thought of it. I run a local network and my default printer is the networked printer. Apparently every time I do something that effects what would be printed if I asked it to, it first checks with the printer which takes time over a network. I changed my default back to a printer linked directly to the computer and we are back to full speed.
I wonder how long it would have taken to figure this out before the internet?
