Manual Grouping in Pivot Tables
As shown in the Pivot Tables Grouping video, it is possible to perform manual grouping in pivot tables. In this way you can highlight a number of the items in a row, right click on them and group them. The pivot table will then remember that these items are grouped and you can even give it an unique name for future reference.
If, when you want to choose the items to group, they are not adjacent to each other, you can highlight the relevant cells while holding the CTRL button down. Then right click and choose the GROUP option and they will be automatically grouped without you having to move the items to all be in the same area.
