PowerPivot Go To Excel Table is greyed out

If you are working in PowerPivot and are looking at a Linked Table, you may be surprised to see that the PowerPivot Go To Excel Table is greyed out.

The reason for this could be that the table that PowerPivot is using as a link has been hidden in the Excel file (someone right clicked on the sheet name and clicked Hide).

In order to see it you will need to unhide it in Excel i.e. right click on any one of the sheet names in Excel and choose UNHIDE. You then need to choose the correct sheet to unhide.

When you go back to PowerPivot you will see that the ‘Go To Excel Table’ button is available for use again.
