PowerPivot refusing to switch screens

PowerPivot refusing to switch screens

We have come across situations with PowerPivot refusing to switch screens and beeping each time we try and click on either a PowerPivot or Excel screen. So far the main reason for this is that we got distracted and while creating a Calculated Field we switched to another screen (perhaps to copy some code).

It is difficult to find this screen again but PowerPivot is waiting for instructions so it refuses to switch to another screen.

The easiest way we have found to switch to this screen is to use the task manager (CTRL & ALT & DELETE) and in the applications tab you will see the Calculated Field ‘application’. You can click on it and switch to this screen.
