Names ranges are a controversial topic with Excel experts differing in their view on whether they are good or bad. Due to a number of model reviews we have performed we believe that they are more bad than good and try and avoid them in general. One example is when you need to sort named range in excel.
The simple answer is that the cell values move around but the named ranges continue to refer to the original cell. So if you had GP% by branch in a list with named ranges and then decided to re sort the order of the branches you could have a problem!
