Using Excel’s TIME functions

A visitor wrote

do you have a tutorial for entering timesheets
eg, i want 7:00 -12:00 =5hrs
is there a formula that will take my in and out times and figure out the total hours

Then at the end of each week if the total hours is over 44 i want it to default the rest into overtime

There are a number of TIME functions in Excel. If you watch the function wizard video clip on https://www.auditexcel.co.za/Function%20Wizard%20Project.html you can access all of Excel’s time functions which are easy to understand.

Once you have that sorted you can use a IF function to work out if you are over 44 hours and then allocate the additional hours to overtime. You can also watch how to use the IF function on https://www.auditexcel.co.za/IF.html
